FM radio transmission sound walk, Upstate New York.
4 channel sound, broadcasted over FM radio. Participants carry receivers and traverse the forest, encountering shifts in the soundscape as they enter various zones of broadcast.
Transmission 1: Renditions of “Wayfaring Stranger”, human, compilation.
Transmission 2: Starlings modulated and synthesized to sing to the tune of “Wayfaring Stranger”.
Transmission 3: Finches modulated and synthesized to sing to the tune of “Wayfaring Stranger”.
