Channels (Where the Waters Meet) contains field recordings from two bodies of water: Hun He, near the my hometown in Shenyang, China, and the Salt Marsh in Brooklyn, New York, near Smack Mellon, where the piece was on view. Here, I am imagining that perhaps a droplet of water from Hun He has traversed across vast bodies of ocean to find its way to the salt marshes of Brooklyn, NY, much like myself. From the field recordings, compositions are built from the physical auditory blending of the waters through a feedback system.
